Description

Application

This aluminium flexible cable is specially designed for Wind Turbines and dedicated for fixed installation inside the tower  with low   radius curve  and  possible  mobile installation  with low  torsion angle and low number of cycles.
 

The quality of materials used for core, insulation and sheathing (low smoke zero halogen-LS0H) make the cables both durable, and resistant to high temperatures. Nexans offers more than a decade of experience with wind energy.

Main characteristics

  • Industrial cables resistant to high temperatures

  • T°C on core : 90 °C in normal use  ,  250°C in short circuit
  • Water resistance : AD2 to AD6
  • Corrosive and polluting substances resistance : AF3
  • Impact resistance : AG2
  • Oil and  grease resistant ASTM/IRM 902, (gear oil, hydraulic oil if required   ) 
  • UV resistant
  • Ozone resistant
  • Fire performances: Flame retardant (IEC/EN 60332-1)
                               Fire retardant (IEC/EN 60332-3 Cat C)    and low  smoke  emission , low toxicity   low corrosivity   in case of fire. 

Design 

1. Conductor :
special Flexible  aluminium alloy core   IEC/EN 60 228 for Rl
Optional PET separator on core

2. Insulation :
Special cross-linked halogen free rubber EPR for high temperatures ,ozone  behaviour ,
Optional PET tape on insulation

3. Sheath :
High mechanical performance
Special cross-linked synthetic halogen free rubber EM8 (XLEVA), tested for EM7 application
Oil , flame,  Ozone resistant.
Colour :black   ( other color  on request )
